Wait For His Best

This is a word Father has been putting on my heart the past two days.  Many of us have been asking Him for something that is the desire of our hearts. It is not a lusting after something, or wanting something to satisfy our flesh; it is actually a desire that is pleasing to Father. But we don't have patience to wait for it. We run ahead of Him - and when we do this, we settle for less than He wanted to give us. Sometimes Father will sigh and open the door for His child and say, "All right, if you really think you want this, go ahead.  I give it to you." And it is far less than HE wanted to bestow on us, but we wouldn't wait for His best. John and I are learning this lesson first-hand right now, and praise God, I think we passed the test.  We almost settled for the small morsel yesterday, but I wasn't able to sleep all night last night and had absolutely no peace. I knew I was outside His will; and when John awoke and we discussed the matter he heard the Spirit whisper, "Thanks for waiting for My best. This wasn't My best!"

If you have been waiting a long time for something, don't give up on Him. Wait for His best! I believe He is going to delight to give all His children better gifts than we ever asked for or imagined - but it has to be in HIS perfect time.
