What is a Doula?
In ancient Greece, the term doula literally meant servant, and was used to describe a woman who served as a trusted companion and helper during the childbirth process. A doula would provide emotional, physical, and practical support. In modern times this term doula has been revived and now includes the role of a trusted, non-medical caregiver for those who are at the end of life. I have a heart to serve those who are dying, as well as lending compassion and support to their families.
