The Bible teacher that John has most loved and revered in his life is Derek Prince. Although Mr. Prince has already gone to be with the Lord, his many teachings stand as strong pillars of Truth. More recently we have discovered another profound, excellent teacher of the Scriptures. His name is Allen Jackson (not to be confused with the country singer by the same name)! About two weeks ago we were listening to Allen Jackson teaching on the seals of Revelation Chapter 6 and he said something that caused me to literally jump up out of my seat with excitement. He said that contrary to popular opinion, he believes the white horse of the first seal (Revelation 6:1-2) represents - are you ready? - the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Throughout all my years of studying Scripture I have always been told that this white horse represents the Anti-Christ, going throughout the earth as a conqueror bent on conquest. In more recent times I even heard people say that since the rider of this horse wears a crown and the Hispanic word for crown is "corona," the rider of this horse must actually be Corona Virus (bent on worldwide conquest)! None of these explanations made any sense to me because my God is a God of order, always. So as we continue in Revelation 6 with the Lamb opening the seals one by one, we continue looking at seals two through four, all represented by horses of various colors and we are struck by the consecutive order of these events and how clearly they are coming into view even now! The second seal reveals a fiery red horse "whose rider is given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword" (Rev. 6:3-4). This is a clear picture of WAR, and lines up with Yeshua's end-time warnings to us of "nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom" (Matt. 24:6-7). Our current news is literally spilling over with these wars and rumors of wars; and by the way, this is a reminder that we should all be keeping watch over and praying for the peace of Jerusalem. Israel will have wars, but there will be no peace until Yeshua returns in power and glory, and so to pray for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray for His soon coming to establish His Kingdom! The third seal reveals a black horse and "its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand." The rider's voice says, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages and three quarts of barley for a day's wages," so this rider is warning of severe economic collapse and inflation. (Rev. 6:5-6). Sound familiar? Finally when the Lamb opens the fourth seal, we see a pale horse and "its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague and by the wild beasts of the earth." (Rev. 6:7-8) Certainly THIS horse and rider are indicative of global pandemics such as we have just been through, and famines that are even now beginning to scourge the earth. But the one thing that has not rung true for me is that the revealing of the Anti-Christ figure does NOT come before these other three horses! That explanation of the white horse always seemed completely out of order to me. So, when Allen Jackson taught that the rider of the white horse in the first seal is actually our Lord and Savior, Yeshua/Jesus, whose Gospel is "riding" throughout the whole earth, victoriously winning souls for Eternity, it resonated gloriously with my spirit! And tonight as John and I listened carefully to a teaching from Derek Prince entitled "The White Horse" I let out a shout of joy as he confirmed this interpretation! He also pointed out that in Matthew 24:14 our Lord tells us, "This Gospel will be preached to all the world and THEN the end will come." Yes! That puts it all in sequential order, doesn't it? The disciples asked the Master what would be the SIGN (singular) of His coming and of the end of the age. He answered their question - the SIGN would be THE WHITE HORSE! First the Great Message of Salvation through the sinless Blood of Yeshua our Messiah travels throughout the earth, bringing salvation to millions of souls; and then, as the history of the world comes into its last days, some very great judgments come upon the people of the earth (the riders of the last three horses). To think that we are living in those days wherein the Lamb is opening those end-time seals is staggering isn't it? Derek Prince reminds us that these wars, famines, economic collapses, pestilence, diseases and death are all spoken of by Yeshua as "the beginning of birth pains." Just as a woman in labor has pains that grow more and more intense and closer and closer together, so are these events represented as the four horsemen of Revelation 6. We can all feel the intensity growing. Some days I can swear I'm hearing the pounding of the hoofbeats! But my friends, WE must stay focused on what is being birthed in the midst of these pains! It is the birthing of Messiah's Glorious Kingdom Reign on this earth, in Jerusalem! It is the prayer that He taught us all to pray - and we should be praying it right now more than ever: "Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name. YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN." In keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. (2 Peter 3:13) Look up for your redemption draws near! Watch for the Rider on the White Horse!

I bet every person reading this blog has had this experience at least once in their life. You are struggling with an issue and it keeps coming back to haunt you. You know God is probably dealing with you, but it won't go away.
For the past few weeks I've been hanging out in the Camp of Regret. I'm not a happy camper there; it's filled with old memories and I'm surrounded there with a poisonous mixture of disappointment and self-pity. I go back in time to try to analyze and figure out why I made certain mistakes and how I can still try to make something right that went wrong. I was making my bed this morning and rehearsing these regrets. Then I caught myself, and began to pray out loud, "Lord, pull me out of this awful camp! I know you don't want me here!" Psalm 25:7: Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good. I took a shower, got dressed, fixed my hair, got John up and made us both coffee and breakfast. Then we left for the worship service. When the last strains of the worship music faded, the pastor walked up to the pulpit and began to preach. He was serving up a banquet of Scriptures, all of which seemed to be just for me; a list of verses addressing our human tendancy to try to go back and somehow change our past and find a way to forgive ourselves. "Beloved, you can't go back!" he kept exhorting. "You can't undo what you wish you had not done and you can't fix what you regret doing! It's done! It's over! You have a new season before you!" It was as if he had heard my prayer this morning as I made my bed. God was reading my mail! And the more this pastor kept encouraging us to set our sight and our focus on the future, the more I felt my soul giving up the burdens I'd been carrying. He reminded us that when we surrender to Yeshua all our past regrets and sorrows, they are gone for good and we are set free from this "detention camp" where we've spent way too much useless time and energy! I do love it when the Holy Spirit speaks through someone to address the very thing that we are struggling with. He is calling His Bride to be focused on the Glory, the Joy, the Majesty, and the Wonder of His coming Kingdom where EVERYTHING will be made new! Isaiah 43:19: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Rev. 21: 1-4: Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. What a thrilling new season awaits, just ahead of us! The Bride must make herself ready. I'm driving away from the Camp of Regrets and tearing the rearview mirror off my brain. Hallelujah! |
