The Sign of Jonah

Matthew 12:38,41:  Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to Him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you." He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign. But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here. "

 I have wondered for a long time about this statement from our Lord Yeshua. Because most of us usually made the assumption that the important part of this passage is verse 39, about Yeshua being in the heart of the earth three days and three nights, as Jonah was in the belly of the whale, I omitted that verse. Now that we are coming to a time when this passage is about to be fulfilled through the Eclipse across America on April 4, I realized how important it is that we pay very close attention to the deeper understanding - that the sign of Jonah was actually a HUGE CALL TO REPENTANCE TO A WICKED NATION.

I'm going to share some exceptionally exciting revelations about this upcoming eclipse, all straight from the Scriptures and we need to start be re-examining the book of Jonah to see how the patterns of that story are about to be repeated. The first clue, I learned, came from the discovery that this eclipse will traverse a path that goes through SEVEN CITIES OF NINEVEH. Yes, you read that right! The pathway starts, as I have written before, in Eagle Pass, Texas and goes through Nineveh, TX, Nineveh, MO, Nineveh, IN, Nineveh, OH, Nineveh, PA and Nineveh, NY. SEVEN - God's number of completion! Oh, how He is speaking to us through these heavenly signs and how He longs for us to hear His message! 

So, what WAS the message that Jonah brought to the ancient city of Nineveh?  Jonah 3:4: "Forty more days and Nineveh will be destroyed." We all know that Jonah was reluctant to bring this message at first, and his disobedience resulted in "three days and nights inside the great fish." But after that terrible experience, Jonah submitted to the Lord and obeyed His command to "Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim the message I give you." It was a great call for the wicked, adulterous people there to repent and return to God.  They were a part of the Assyrian Empire, built by Nimrod. These people were brutal, violent and cruel. But they considered an eclipse a great and terrible omen of imminent destruction and they were in a period of chaos, struggling with revolts, famines, and two separate plagues. DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR? Chaos, revolts, famine and plagues? 

So, my friends, when the huge Bur Sagale solar eclipse began to pass over them, bringing darkness to the land (as documented on June 11, 763 BC, the exact time when Jonah prophesied), the people were afraid. So Jonah, the messenger of God, came to them and proclaimed, "Forty more days and Nineveh will be destroyed" and the people believed him! Jonah 3:5: "The Ninevites believed God. They declared a fast and ALL OF THEM, FROM THE GREATEST TO THE LEAST, PUT ON SACKCLOTH. When the news reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat down in the dust. " 

Jonah 3:7-10: Then he issued a proclamation in Nineveh: "By the decree of the king and his nobles; Do not let any man or beast, herd or flock taste anything, do not let them eat or drink. But let them be covered with sackcloth. LET EVERYONE CALL URGENTLY ON GOD. LET THEM GIVE UP THEIR EVIL WAYS AND THEIR VIOLENCE. Who Knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from His fierce anger so that we will not perish."  When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, He had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction He had threatened.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Lord God Almighty has orchestrated these two solar eclipses across the United States of America in order to speak to us directly and get our attention. The 2017 eclipse went through SEVEN CITIES NAMED SALEM. And Salem is a form of JeruSALEM, also meaning shalom or peace. He was letting us know we would have seven years of peace - but if there was no repentance from all our wickedness and sin by 2024 (seven years later), there would be another eclipse, and this time the message would be "FORTY MORE DAYS AND AMERICA WILL BE OVERTURNED" - just as in Nineveh. 

I don't think there are any coincidences here. God does not do coincidences! He carefully, purposely places His signs in the heavens and in Luke 21:11 we are told there will be "great signs from Heaven" in these days. In fact, on April 8 all the planets are going to align in a straight line across the universe on the side of the sun, and this is an extremely rare event!  April 8 in the Hebrew is Nisan 1, the very first day of the Biblical calendar. The first day of Nisan has a significant meaning. It's the beginning - and just like it's the beginning of the biblical year and the inauguration of the tabernacle, it surely is also going to be the beginning of judgment upon America. Look up 4/8 in Exodus 4:8 and you will read: Then the LORD said, "If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first miraculous sign, they may believe the second"! 

And so on 4/8 we receive the second sign of the solar eclipses over America and there is much more God has to say about it when we look at the very CENTER of the big "X" these two eclipses make across our nation.  The only spot in the path of both eclipses, the place plunged into total darkness during both events, is a part of southern Illinois known as Little Egypt. Apparently a Baptist minister in 1799 dubbed the fertile plains near the Mississippi River "Goshen," a biblical reference to ancient Egypt. The nickname stuck and in the 1830s poor harvests in the north of the state drove people to southern Illinois to buy grain, recollecting the story of Joseph in Egypt. 

And so, having documented all this, I sit and ponder a few things. Michael Snyder, in his blog, pointed out that the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt for 400 years. The Mayflower arrived in the U.S. in 1620, just over 400 years ago and a great and powerful new government was formed that guaranteed liberty and freedom for all, based upon the Torah of God.  Could America be facing the end of her great rise to world dominance and economic wealth, as she has abandoned God?  Have we become a Nineveh in His eyes? Is He allowing a Pharaoh to enslave us as part of His righteous judgments? 

Personally I think that's true. This 2024 eclipse takes place in the midst of the constellation Pisces. Pisces means "fish" - but it did not refer to just any old fish! It referred to the ANTHIUS FISH; and there is something quite striking about that species. It is known as a hermaphroditic fish. When a male dies, it becomes a female. It changes gender! 

These messages from the signs in the heavens are truly remarkable, friends! The eclipse in 2017 was in the constellation LEO (the Lion)! The message was "GET READY THE LION OF JUDAH IS COMING!" The message of this upcoming eclipse in PICSES IS "REPENT OF YOUR SIN! PUT ON SACKCLOTH. CALL A FAST. YOU HAVE 40 DAYS."

In the book of Jonah we see an entire huge area of the Assyrian Empire repenting before the Holy One of Israel, and they were saved from destruction. Will we see this in our nation? What happens 40 days from April 8?  It will be in the week of Shavu'ot (Pentecost). What does this Feast represent? Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The end of the counting of the Omer - thus, the purification of the Bride from the fleshly barley season to the time of the loaves made from pure, refined wheat. 

And so we must pray. Pray for the judgments of God in our country to bring the people to their knees. Pray that these great weather disasters will wake people up to their need for a good and faithful God. Pray for all the evil and corruption in our government and our judicial system to be EXPOSED to the light and brought down.  Pray for the people of God to rise up in boldness and courage, unashamed of the Gospel. Pray that we have wisdom and strategy in confronting the evils of abortion and homosexuality and pray that parents will bring back prayer and the teaching of the tenets of our faith in our schools. 

LET EVERYONE CALL URGENTLY ON GOD. LET THEM GIVE UP THEIR EVIL WAYS AND THEIR VIOLENCE. Who Knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from His fierce anger so that we will not perish.
