For a third morning in a row my eyelids fluttered open at 4:24 a.m. I stared in disbelief at my digital clock. "Really, Lord?" I exclaimed. "4:24 again? Clearly You are trying to show me something!" The last two mornings I had rolled over and gone right back to sleep, but this morning I knew I needed to pay attention, as this clearly was not a coincidence! I decided to go first to the Word of God and look up the books that have a chapter 4 and verse 24. To my astonishment, these are the verses I found; and I put them in the order that the Spirit directed me. Taken together, they read like a single passage - a picture, if you will, of the earth in the midst of judgment, the words our Lord wants us to pay attention to as we navigate this tumultuous season, and the Good News of His mighty working power! I hope this blesses you:
I looked at the mountains and they were quaking; all the hills were swaying (Jer. 4:24) Therefore as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the Torah of the LORD Almighty and spurned the Word of the Holy One of Israel. (Isa. 4:24) For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. (Deut. 4:24) He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear YHVH (the LORD) your God. (Joshua 4:24) ...for us to whom God will credit righteousness - for us, who believe in Him who raised Yeshua from the dead. (Romans 4:24) Put away perversity from your mouth, keep corrupt talk far from your lips. (Prov. 4:24) Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righeousness and holiness. (Eph. 4:24) God is spirit and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:24) When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," they said, "You made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them!" (Acts 4:24) Then news about Him spread all over Syria and people brought to Him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering with severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures and the paralyzed, and He healed them. (Matt. 4:24). TEN SEAMLESS VERSES. TEN POWERFUL REMINDERS. Let us hold them close to our hearts and use them as a compass to steer us through troubled waters.
