I'm so grateful there was still a little Remnant of people who were so excited to gather together in a campground tonight out on the Eastern plains tonight to keep the Feast of Trumpets! I have done this every year for 18 years now and it just grows more and more exciting to me as my yearning for the Appearing of our Great King Yeshua deepens and intensifies. We gathered in a little circle and opened our Bibles to read the passages that speak of His Glorious Return on the clouds, at the sound of the 7th Trumpet; and then when the perfect time of twilight arrived - that time when light is just fading into darkness - we hiked up to a ridge, turned our gaze to the west, and behold! There it was! The sliver of the new moon of Tishri 1, the beginning of the Hebrew year 5782! We blew the shofars with long, loud, celebratory blasts and about two dozen black Angus cattle in the field nearby stopped and stared in wonder at the sound!
Allow me to re-post what I wrote on this blog in October of 2016 on the night of Yom Teruah. It expresses even more beautifully what this Feast day has come to mean to me: We were 26 people gathered at the edge of the lake on Yom Teruah, shofars in hand, great anticipation in hearts. We would faithfully go down to the edge of the water and cast our stones (symbolic of our sins) into the "sea," as far as the east is from the west. But then something happened that drew us all into a holy hush. My husband John tossed his stone into the water, and then knelt at water's edge, his head bowed low before the Lord, in deep repentance. All chattering stopped. The fiery orange and gold of the sunset danced like flames across the water, and we knew we were on holy ground. I looked around me and 26 pairs of eyes were riveted on the western sky, in great expectation. We were all looking for the new moon so that we could blow our shofars, as commanded in Scripture. However, the sky was almost black, completely shrouded in thick, storm-laden clouds. The thing that touched me was that no one stopped looking. Despite the dark cloud cover, all eyes remained watchful, and not a word was spoken. For at least fifteen minutes we stared into the night sky, and I began to be aware that what we were really looking for so intently, with such deep desire, was the appearing of our Glorious Messiah! What people would be so crazy as to gather by a lake on a week night, with shofars and ram's horns in hand, watching and waiting with such excitement unless they were consumed with the desire to see His coming on the clouds on the Day of Blowing?! God did not disappoint us, even though Yeshua did not choose to come. Suddenly He pulled back the black clouds like the great velvet drapes of a theater, and there, framed right in the middle of the parted drapes, was the magnificent silvery new moon! He had framed it for us, given as a gift to those who are looking for Him, yearning for His appearing on a Yom Teruah yet to come... The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)

I moved to my sweet little country town of Eaton, Colorado 15 years ago. My small 1910-built craftsman house was on a pleasant, quiet, tree-lined street. To hear the Eaton fire truck or ambulance siren was a very rare occasion. Now, 15 years later, I am hearing the blaring of sirens in this town almost DAILY. Two days ago I heard them no less than four times as they raced down our street, sirens blaring, lights flashing. The times are dark and ominous, friends. The tension is palpable. Our own government has given us over to the Taliban jihadists who seek to destroy us. There is no doubt in my heart and mind now that the LORD God Almighty is allowing judgments on America. Yet, in the midst of all this, God's V oice is loud and strong, calling us to higher ground in the Spirit realm. He is birthing a Kingdom through painful labor and our work is to set aside earthly things and ways and become KINGDOM-MINDED!
My sister in Illinois called the other day to give me a Word from God that was given during her church's prayer time. It came from Numbers 32, and the context was the two tribes of Reuben and Gad who were asking permission to just stay on the east side of the Jordan and settle with their flocks and herds, while the other 8 tribes cross the Jordan and do battle for their territories. Moses' response to them was, "If you will arm yourselves before the LORD for battle, and if all of you will go armed over the Jordan before the LORD until H has driven His enemies out before Him, then when the land is subdued, you may return and be free from your obligation to the LORD and to Israel." My sister's translation read, "If you will SUIT UP before the LORD and do battle..." The phrase "suit up" seemed to quicken mightily in my spirit. And then later that evening, dear brother in the Lord, Robert Ward, sent me another word with the same message. Jeremiah 1:16-17: "I will pronounce judgment against them for abandoning me [says the LORD]... STAND UP and tell them everything I order you to say." These words through the Holy Spirit are not a coincidence. They are the same call given to us in Ephesians 6:11,13: "PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD so that you can take your STAND against the devil's schemes. Put on the full armor of God (SUIT UP!) so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to STAND YOUR GROUND and after you have done everything, to STAND." Do you feel that we are IN that "day of evil" right now? I do. And these messages coming at us simultaneously from different sources and different Scriptures line up once again in order to speak loud and clear to the Children of God. It's time to join our brothers and sisters and SUIT UP IN THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD, ready to do battle in prayer and intercession, fighting against all the devil's schemes! We can no longer just bury our hands in the sand and go on as if nothing is happening around us. The western half of the U.S. is on fire and the eastern half is flooded. YEHOVAH is getting ready to shake all that can be shaken in order to wake up slumbering believers and REACH lost souls! John Glucek wrote, "There is a spirit among those who are moving toward God's judgment that is a kind of stupor. This is the stupor of those who did not receive the truth and so be delivered. This is the unrighteous deception that leads to destruction. (See 2 Thess. 2:8-12). Do you know those around you who are in this stupor? They are all around us, actually, in our neighborhoods, our grocery stores, our schools. They are in danger of believing the great Deception (Deceiver) who is coming! Glucek says "It costs something to love the Truth." He's right. The Truth is Jesus; and His Gospel is a Gospel of Suffering. His Way is the Narrow Path. But His Life is Eternity. It's time for us to prepare our hearts for the road ahead. It's time for us to "suit up" for battle. It's time to set aside earthly things and become Kingdom-minded. And in Glynda Lomax's prophetic word dated September 2, 2021, the LORD God says to us all, "In the end, I am all you have as the world you know begins spiraling toward destruction. It cannot bear up under the weight of so much sin. But in the end...I AM ALL YOU NEED." |
