Shalom dear friends, You haven't heard from me in a couple weeks and there is a good reason! I left on April 22 for my 4,700 mile road trip from Colorado through Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi and into Destin, Florida where I am even now reveling in the warmth of the Florida sun, dipping my toes into the white sandy beach, and relaxing to the sound of the rhythmic, turquoise waves. There are no words to express how this trip is restoring my joy! Even more important than the relaxing beach vacation is the opportunity I'm getting to visit MANY beloved friends and family across the country. As you know, I've been "locked down" for the last five years at home, taking good care of my husband. Now that he is safely HOME with the Lord, I am on the road again, which most of you know is my favorite place to be! In Missouri I picked up one of my high school girlfriends (also widowed), and she traveled with me to Florida. The first day we were here, the skies were covered with thick, dark clouds, thunder, and intense lightning. The rain poured down in buckets! But I felt no disappointment. I sat at the window and watched God's glory and power in the lightning bolts that struck the stormy waves and I took great delight in hearing His thundering voice roaring across the heavens! I found myself giving thanks because I knew that tomorrow the sun was going to come bursting forth in radiant LIGHT! And it did. As I spent this day in the bright Florida sunshine, feeling a true inner joy being restored to my heart, I saw the full picture that this weather pattern had illustrated for me. There were some years of challenge, of sadness, and of dark clouds, but the promise of the coming of the SON always shone brightly. He continually calls us to "Look up, for your redemption draws near!" And as I watch the pieces of Bible prophecy coming into full view, I know in my spirit that His coming is SOON. Reconnecting with many precious people in my life as I travel America's highways is more important and precious than I can express. Phone calls over the last few years were a blessing, and emails became a life-line; but oh what joy to HUG each one in person and to give thanks for the many brothers and sisters in Messiah who have walked with me -- including each one of YOU! Thank you for sticking with me on this little blog - and for continuing on the journey we are all taking, step by step, moment by moment, until we too are swept up into the arms of our glorious Redeemer!
