Ever since President Trump announced that the United States would be holding direct negotiations with Iran on Saturday, April 12, regarding Iran's nuclear weapons facilities, my spirit has been leaping within me, KNOWING THAT THIS DAY IS PASSOVER. Why, I kept asking myself, did they choose THIS day? I know with certainty that all things occurring on the LORD'S Feast days have meaning; whether it involves the celestial signs in the sun, moon or stars, or whether it involves world events that are fulfilling ancient prophecies, I know we need to pay attention!
From my view, I believe these talks in Oman today, between representatives of the U.S. and Iran, will certainly decide the outcome of some very serious, major global events. The build-up of the U.S. military in the Middle East, and the high alert in Israel on this most holy day, is very telling that something earth-changing is just on the horizon. So, when I go to God's word to learn what BIBLICAL picture all this is presenting, I find myself in Exodus 13:3: Then Moses said to the people, "Commemorate this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the LORD brought you out of it with a Mighty Hand." And verse 8 says, On that day (Passover) tell your son, 'I do this because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt. This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the Torah of the LORD is to be on your lips. For the LORD brought you out of Egypt with a Mighty Hand. You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time year after year." And so year after year the Jewish people have kept the observance of Pesach (Passover), remembering their deliverance from their enemies and giving all glory to God. Will they end up grabbing their unleavened bread this year and scurrying into their bomb shelters? Or might God intervene once again and work a miracle WITH HIS MIGHTY HAND, saving His people and protecting His inheritance? The word 'hand' in Hebrew is yad. Interestingly in Hebrew it means both hand and power. It refers to a literal hand, although not a human one. Strong's Concordance says "the word is used figuratively to describe control, power, or possession. I believe it means all of those things as Elohim, the Mighty One of Israel, uses His Mighty Hand to perform powerful works of salvation and protection over His possession, Israel, the apple of His eye. So, what will happen in these negotiations with Iran, the ancient evil empire of Persia? I do not know. In my own personal opinion I would say that they cannot be trusted. Yet, now that God has shown me the reason for the timing of this meeting, I feel confident that He will, in some way, use it for the higher good of both Israel and our own nation. His ways are ALWAYS higher than ours! And His Hand, His Yad, wields a mighty sword! So we shall keep the feast and it shall be for us like a sign on OUR hands that the LORD brought us out of our own bondage of sin and delivered us through the blood of the Lamb. THAT is the great and eternal answer! My Passover table is beautifully set. I cried some tears as I got everything ready yesterday, missing my sweet husband who loved this Feast day with all his heart. Yet, he is in a place where the wars and rumors of wars cannot touch him; where sighing and crying are no more; and where the Lamb Himself is on the throne! Pesach Sameach! May your Passover celebration be holy and filled with joy!
