I sit at my writing table and reflect upon all the swirling and changing emotions I have experienced in the last twenty-four hours. I do hope that each of you has found the time to watch at least some of the incredible memorial service held for Charlie Kirk yesterday. I kept a box of kleenex close by as I passed from tearful awe to rejoicing, worshiping in my living room with 100,000 passionate believers in Jesus Christ. The power of the Holy Spirit at that event seemed to come through my TV screen with electrifying jolts!
I once led worship for a gathering of 200,000+ people in Nigeria, and watched in humbled awe as thousands and thousands bowed the knee and worshiped the Lord, accepting His offer of repentance and salvation. I have not seen or heard anything like it until yesterday, in this glorious service memorializing Charlie Kirk, a true martyr of the faith. Who would have imagined that we would witness our Secretary of State, our Secretary of the War Department, our Director of Intelligence and our Vice President passionately preaching the Gospel? I was on my knees, thanking God for what I was witnessing: the TURNING POINT of this nation. It was the ship that God showed me, only this ship was not groaning and creaking. This ship was buoyed up by the power of WORSHIP from not only across America, but across the world! This ship was accelerating at a speed unknown in recent times. And just as the ship was heading for the full turn, one simple event super-charged its engines with supernatural power and hurled it forward. That event was forgiveness. In front of five million people, Erika Kirk forgave the man who murdered her husband. "It is what Jesus would do and it is what Charlie would have wanted," she said. And the ship reached the TURNING POINT. Now, on an even larger scale, we reach the events of the U.N. General Assembly meeting, converging with the Feast of Trumpets (or Rosh haShana), the beginning of the Jewish new year. Is it a coincidence? Is this all happening on the same day for a reason? I know our omnipotent God has a reason for all that He does, but my heart is racing right now as I anticipate what might come of this significant convergence. Today, as the Jewish New Year approaches, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is spearheading an international initiative with France to recognize a Palestinian state, while normalization with Israel has faded into the distance. This shift is a major diplomatic achievement of Hamas and Iran. Three quarters of U.N. member countries will vote to accept a Palestinian state, now to include France, U.K., Australia and Canada. This is a bigger issue with God than we can even comprehend. Joel Chapter 3 reminds us in very clear terms how He feels about those who divide up HIS LAND. From the Times of Israel, September 22, 2025: President Isaac Herzog is the latest Israeli leader to pan the UK, Australia, and Canada recognition of a Palestinian state, saying it “will only embolden the forces of darkness.” “After the atrocities of October 7, while Hamas continues its campaign of terror, and while it continues to cruelly hold 48 hostages in the tunnels and dungeons of Gaza, the recognition of a Palestinian state by some nations today is, not surprisingly, cheered by Hamas,” he writes on X. “It will not help one Palestinian,” Herzog continues. “It won’t help free one hostage, and it will not help us reach any settlement between Israelis and Palestinians. It will only embolden the forces of darkness. This is a sad day for those who seek true peace.” A sad day for those who seek true peace - occurring on the Day of Blowing Trumpets - the warning blast resounding around the earth from the God of Israel.
