A Little Horn

Daniel 7:8:  When I was thinking about the [ten] horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them.

Several months ago I read an article about Hakan Fidan, the current Foreign Minister of Turkey and how he has recently been rising in power and popularity.  Because I am a very strong believer that the Antichrist figure will emerge from either Turkey or Syria (backed by Scripture in Ezekiel 38), I have been keeping a watch on Mr. Hakan Fidan. Being a "watchman on the wall" has been a major part of my prophetic calling for many years, and I do know when the Spirit is moving me to watch something or someone.

When I first became aware of this foreign minister in Turkey, I purposed to look up the meanings of his names. I found that HAKAN means "emperor or ruler"!  Then I looked up the name Fidan and found that it  is of Turkish origin and means "a sapling or young tree." That definition hearkened  me back to the Daniel 7:8 scripture above.  A sapling - a little horn - that rises up to be a Ruler?

I was sitting here at my desk just pondering that thought again when an email popped up from the Israel Guys (the young men from the HaYovel Ministry in Israel). In this email they wrote, "Turkey's Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, may have a shot at becoming the next Secretary-General of the U.N. Although Turkish officials have denied the claim that Fidan may run for the office, his name has come up for consideration multiple times."

Wow. This could definitely still be something worth watching...or not. But I thought you might find it interesting, as I do. The Secretary-General of the United Nations carries a lot of power. Could it be a little sapling, a little horn coming up out of nowhere (as the Scriptures said) and spring-boarding to a global power position?

Ezekiel 38:1-3 speaks of "Gog of the land of Magog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal." The term chief prince is the word rosh in Hebrew. Rosh has nothing whatsoever to do with Russia! According to Bible scholars, Magog, Meshech and Tubal are all ancient lands that now are within the modern day nation of Turkey. We are given VERY clear understanding on where this "Gog" (who is Antichrist) will come from.  So, we know where to be watching.

Time will tell!
