Visiting a children's school to set up a medical clinic
|
In March of 2000 I
traveled again with Dr. Kathy Bleise and Hope International
Services to Nigeria, Africa. This trip was filled with abundant
blessings as our team set up medical clinics in remote villages
and attended nightly crusades with Dr. Uma Ukpai, Nigerian
evangelist. |

The picture above
gives you a glimpse into these crusades - as many as 200,000
African people coming to Christ in a single night! Many of them
walked miles and miles to get to the sand lot in Port Harcourt,
and spent the nights sleeping on the dirt. Each night the Holy
Spirit fell upon the crowds and thousands were healed of diseases
and delivered of demons. My life was forever changed as I
experienced the power of the Holy Spirit and the glory of Almighty
God, such as I had only read about in the book of Acts! |
 |
It was always my
job in the clinics to fill the prescriptions after the doctors
examined the patients. Often there were between 500-800 people
waiting in line for their prescriptions. And we complain when we
have to wait 10 minutes at the pharmacy! |

The picture above
shows a woman giving the antibiotic prescribed for her infant. I
had the great privilege of praying over every patient that came
through the line! |
|
Amos, a youth pastor on our
team, preached in one of the churches on Sunday morning. I got to
sing with the awesome all-African Gospel choir - definitely one of
the thrills of my life! I also got to teach a Sunday School
class. Classes are divided into 7 different groups - with over
700 people in each class! Below you see Amos peeking into the
children's Sunday School room. |
